They participated in the Pacifica Championship in 2001 and 2002, securing 6th and 5th positions respectively. In February 1966, cricket was restricted to being played only on Wednesdays and Saturdays by the Prime Minister, citing it as a distraction from cyclone cleanup efforts. A tragic incident occurred in October 1977 when a cricket match in Samoa ended in a fight, resulting in the death of two players. Since 2018, all Twenty20 matches played by the Samoa cricket team have been recognized as full T20Is.

In June 2019, Baker was chosen to represent the Samoa cricket team in the men’s tournament at the 2019 Pacific Games. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Samoa against the Papua New Guinea cricket team on 8 July 2019. During the tournament, Samoa’s victory against New Caledonia in the bronze medal match earned Baker a bronze medal.
