Memorable Games In The T10 League
Ten overs is the shortest format in cricket, matches are normally done in around 90 minutes so its appeal to broadcasters and TV audiences is obvious and the format has provided some remarkable performances to date. This was the case in 2021 when Team Abu Dhabi met the Northern Warriors. Abu Dhabi scored on imposing 146 for 6, South African Colin Ingram hit 61 in just 25 balls as Oshane Thomas went for 50 runs in his two overs. Chasing this down would be a record chase for Warriors in ten over cricket. Kemmar Lewis and Moeen Ali achieved this with staggering ease winning the match by ten wickets with 5 balls to spare. Lewis hit 65 not out off 32 balls but this was topped by England cricket team player Moeen Ali who picked up player of the match with 77 not out off just 23 balls (a strike rate of 334.78!) hitting no fewer than nine sixes.
In terms of individual batting feats in the T10 League, nobody has scored a century yet but in 2021 Englishman Tom Kohler-Cadmore fell agonisingly close for Deccan Gladiators against Bangla Tigers. He smashed 96 off just 39 balls falling on the fourth last ball of the 10th over. He hit twelve fours and 5 sixes in his record breaking innings which became the highest score to date in the format. His team totalled 140 for 1, in reply Bangla Tigers were all out for just 78 in 8.3 overs falling to 62 run defeat. Fittingly Kohler-Cadmore took the final catch to complete the win in this impressive T10 League match.
