Namibia itself is a relatively new country, gaining independence from South Africa back in 1990. Shortly after this, the Namibian Cricket Board was formed, with them also being awarded their ICC membership in the same year. The Namibia cricket team played its first one-day international against the Zimbabwe cricket team back in 2003, in which the latter team won by 86 runs.

Memorable Games For The Namibia Cricket Team
The Namibia cricket team made its ODI debut back in February 2023 in the ODI World Cup. They faced off against Zimbabwe, losing by 86 runs. The team then went on to play the Pakistan national cricket team and the England cricket team, once again losing both of these matches. They also played India and eventual tournament victors Australia following these defeats; however, despite not coming out triumphant, they performed with credit and showed their true capabilities on the biggest stage.
The 2021 T20 World Cup was arguably one of the most memorable tournaments for the Namibia cricket team, as this is where they recorded their first World Cup victories. These came against the Netherlands cricket team and Ireland in the first round of the competition. Subsequently, they progressed onto the Super 12 stage, a first for the nation.
