Bulgaria made its international cricket debut against the Switzerland cricket team in 2004 at the ECC Representative Championship in Slovenia. The team played its first T20 International (T20I) match against the Serbia cricket team on October 14, 2019, during the 2019 Hellenic Premier League. Since April 2018, all T20 matches played by the Bulgaria cricket team against other ICC members have been granted full T20I status.
