They became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2000 and an associate member in 2017. Their international debut was in 2006 against the Austria cricket team.

One of the memorable games for the Czech Republic Cricket Team was their first-ever T20I match against Austria on 30 August 2019 during the 2019 Continental Cup in Romania. Sudesh Wickramasekara managed to amass 52 runs from 33 balls, however, the Czech side still fell short by 8 wickets. Despite this, it was still a monumental step for the side into T20I cricket.
Another highlight for the Czech Republic cricket team was their participation in the ICC supported Euro Twenty20 tournament in 2008, where they came second, only falling short to the Ireland cricket team, a now full ICC member.
