The inaugural CSL campaign back in 2013 would really help put the Jamaica Tallawahs on the map. After winning 5 of their 7 matches in the league stage of the competition, they would go on to play the Barbados Royals in the semi finals. Fielding first, the Jamaica side managed to take key wickets, 2 of these coming from Vernon Philander, to limit the Barbados side to 148/6. With their turn at the crease, the Tallawahs would chase down this target, with batters putting in consistent innings. Most notably, Kumar Sangakkara ended the match with 50 runs not out to beat the target with 2 overs spare to progress to the final.

In the final, the Guyana Amazon Warriors would be their opponents, with this team being the only side that finished above them in the league standings. After winning the toss, the Jamaica Tallawahs fielded first and strategic bowling saw their opposition struggle to get a footing, limiting them to 128/5. Although the Guyana side deployed a similar bowling approach, the heroics of Chris Gayle saw the Jamaica team secure the inaugural CPL title, only conceding 3 wickets in the process.

The teams they defeated in the playoffs of the 2013 CPL edition by the Jamaica Tallawahs would face off against the side again in two different finals in 2016 and 2022, with the team in green black and gold coming out victorious on both occasions to secure their 2nd and 3rd championships.
