The Estonia national cricket team represents the country in international cricket. They were granted affiliate status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in June 2008. The team has seen various highs and lows in its journey, with notable moments and players marking its history along the way.

History of Estonia Cricket Team

The Estonian cricket team played its first international match on 24 July 1999. They were granted affiliate status by the ICC in June 2008. Estonia’s cricketing journey saw a significant boost when the ICC decided to grant full Twenty20 International (T20I) status to all its members in April 2018. This meant that all T20 matches played by Estonia against other ICC members after 1 January 2019 would be recognized as full T20Is. Notable visitors to Estonia include the late Australia cricket team star Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley, both cricketing legends in their own right.

Estonia has played a lot of their matches at Tallinn Hippdroom. Tallinn Hippdroom was previously a racing track in the eastern part of Pohja-Tallin but now hosts a wide number of international matches for the Estonia cricket team.

Memorable Games For The Estonia Cricket Team

The Estonia cricket team has had several memorable periods throughout their cricketing history, with one of these being the two years of 2007-2008. In the 2007 season, they won over 80% of all their games and in 2008, they secured victories in 94% of their games (34 out of 36).

In 2011, the Estonia cricket team finished as runners-up in the European T20 Division 3 Championships in Slovenia and followed up on this by becoming Baltic Champions in August 2011 after a win over the Lithuanian cricket team.
